Check out my article over at EthicsDaily.com titled Saving the Environment – A Resolution at a Time.

Baptist environmentalists must focus on educating local Baptist congregations on how to be better stewards of God's creation, Weaver observes.
Noting that “Baptists have a mixed track record when it comes to the environment,” I survey positions taken on environmental issues by American Baptist Churches USA, Southern Baptist Convention and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. In the conclusion, I look to the future and offer a few suggestions.
This particular essay provides a look at the beginnings of my dissertation research – research that will also focus on the role of African-American Baptists in the Environmental Justice Movement and environmental positions taken by smaller Baptist groups and ecumenical endeavors on behalf of environment-related causes that Baptists have been involved with.
