Joe Samples, a Southern Baptist messenger from North Carolina, just moved that the Southern Baptist Convention boycott PEPSI over their support of gay rights issues. Conservative organizations such as the American Family Association have previously threatened a boycott of PEPSI due to a recent $1 million donation by Pepsi to gay rights groups such as the Human Rights Campaign and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).
Samples motion was met by the sound of thunderous applause.
