Leading Global Warming Skeptics Back In The News

Robert Parham of EthicsDaily.com has a fascinating article on Capitol Hill’s leading Global Warming denier, Oklahoma Senator Inhofe.  Here’s a snippet:

A Southern Baptist creationist without a college degree is listed as one of the 700 prominent scientists who object to the statement that the scientific community has reached a consensus about man-made global warming.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) issued a report that said, “Over 700 dissenting scientists … from around the globe challenged man-made global warming claims made by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and former Vice President Al Gore.”

Calling it a “groundbreaking report,” the document said, “The over 700 dissenting scientists are more than 13 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.”

“This Senate report is not a ‘list’ of scientists, but a report that includes full biographies of each scientist and their quotes, papers and links for further reading,” said the document, dated March 2009. “The distinguished scientists featured in this new report are experts in diverse fields.”

Parham goes on to explain that one of the “distinguished scientists” listed by Inhofe in the “ground-breaking report” is a guy named Chris Allen who, quoting Parham, “holds no college degree, believes in creationism and belongs to a Southern Baptist.”  Allen is apparently a weatherman at a TV station in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  On his blog where he articulates his global warming skepticism, Allen even admits that he’s no scientist.

This is good stuff.  Just go read the entire article here.

And then watch the “comical” Republican Minority Leader John Boener sound like an idiot when asked yesterday on ABC’s This Week to describe the GOP plan to dealing with greenhouse gas emissions…

  1. Law, law (southern terms, BDW understands them), how much lower can you go? The polar ice caps are melting, my north Georgia mountains are getting warmer each year, the weather is a mess, and these guys just keep on spewing garbage. Nero fiddled while Rome burned. I think God is going to get them for letting his hard work and beautiful treasure burn up.

  2. Cat's Dad says:

What does Parham say about the other 699? Beautiful the way he lists being a creationist and a Southern Baptist as detriments to the man.

Speaking of sounding like an idiot, referring to the GOP’s “plan to dealing with greenhouse . . .” makes you sound pretty bad, BDW.

GAMountain, did you see the several feet of snow in Colorado this week?
