Is it possible that you were a bit hasty in putting this comment out? It was evidently taken out of context, as Ann was not quoted correctly on purpose for political profit. It seems that Edwards has raised several million dollars by using this apparent rigged telephone call in by his wife.
I think Ann uses bad judgment in some of the remarks she makes and she should have learned by now that the liberals are ready and waiting to jump on every segment of any sentence to use for their political benefit.
As Christians, we need all the facts before we are ready to jump.

Let's see Coulter has: 1)Attacked the 9/11 widows as "harpies exploiting their husbands' deaths" since they were demanding answers from Bush and "their husbands were probably planning on divorcing them anyway!"

2) Repeatedly called Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and John Edwards gay.

3)Attacked the death of Edwards' son.

4) Hoped John Edwards would die by terrorist attack.

Etc., etc. Yet, James Dobson drools over her and other Religious Right figures praise her. Sure, not all conservatives are the same--but it isn't liberals (Christian or otherwise) making Coulter rich by buying her books and inviting her to give commencement speeches at conservative Christian colleges. If all Christian conservatives boycotted her, she'd be broke in a week--but I doubt she has anything to worry about.

She deserved to be called down by Elizabeth Edwards on her remarks.

In that regard, Coulter isn’t an asset to cnservative politicians. I don’t see where she’s done much more than carve out a niche for herself among like minded conservatives who think that spewing bile is justified by their position. She’s not generating new support for conservatives, in fact, she’s probably driving some moderate swing voters away. She’s competing with other conservative hatemongers for a slice of the market. And her hate filled spewing does a great job raising money and support for the other side.

Hold onto your shorts here, BDW, but Ann Coulter doesn't speak for me. There are some things that are just off limits in politics(especially the death of someone's child). Coulter has her own problems she needs to deal with. If she wants to talk about John Edward's positions (which I also disagree with), then that's one thing. But the lowest common denominator is always a sign that you have no real evidence to support your position other than hyperbole.
