I find this extremely sad. The Purpose-Driven Life is Rick Warren's translation of the Bible with all the difficult parts removed. <br/><br/>Repentance? Sanctification? The Bible says you don't get to Heaven based on your deeds. Yet PDL says that you can as soon as you accept Jesus (you don't have to ask forgiveness, just "receive") and begin doing the things you love to do. Use of God-given talents are the road to Heaven according to PDL.<br/><br/>I would feel better that these congressmen swore over a copy of the New York Times. At least <i>some</i> of that is true.
