Nash for Global Missions Coordinator!

This week Dr. Rob Nash will become the Global Missions Coordinator for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF). Since 2000, Dr. Nash has served as the Dean of Shorter College’s School of Religion and International Studies. As the son of Baptist missionaries, Dr. Nash spent 13 years in the Philippines. Dr. Nash has also studied or spent an extended amount of time in over 30 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and South America. After earning his Ph.D in American Christianity at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Dr. Nash served as the Chair of Judson College’s Department of Religion. Dr. Nash’s local church ministry includes interims at Adairsville Baptist Church (Adairsville, GA), Smoke Rise Baptist Church (Stone Mountain, GA), Briarlake Baptist Church (Decatur GA), First Baptist Church Decatur (Decatur GA), First Baptist Church Tucker (Tucker, GA), and First Baptist Church Ringgold (among others).

See the Biblical Recorder for more on Nash.

On a personal note – I am glad that Dr. Nash and his family have found a home in the CBF – a home that is FAR AWAY from the now Fundamentalist-Controlled Shorter College.

Fundamentalism is alive and kicking in the Georgia Baptist Convention led by Executive Director and Machiavelli wanna-be Bob White. Bob may have helped “save” Shorter and Brewton-Parker College from those “evil moderates” but saving those schools from SACS may be another story. Fundamentalists in Higher Education just can’t seem to follow the “Rules of Accreditation” …Tsk.

Glad I stumbled onto your blog. I’m hopeful to missions offerings increase to get more career missionaries on the field. We can’t depend on those anonymous million dollar gifts all the time.
